Kara-Suu is an alpine lake in the Jalal-Abad Region, located at an altitude of 2000 meters deep in the Taktalyk Ridge. Kara-Suu has stunning blue watercolor. The depth of the lake reaches 90 meters and the area is 15 square kilometers. The shores of the lake are quite different. The northern shore is littered with rocks and boulders and overgrown with thorny bushes. There is a lot of vegetation in the area: Tien Shan firs and birches, as well as a large number of barberry, dogrose and honeysuckle. It is possible to see one of the peaks of the Fergana Range – Alampasa, from the shore of Kara-Suu. There are two routes from the lake: to Kapka-Tas, located upstream of the river and to the pass to the southern part of the Ferghana Mountain Range, which leads to the forests of Arslanbob.

How to get to the Kara-Suu lake

Kara-Suu Lake is not far from the city of Karakul, located on the Bishkek-Osh Road. In order to get to the lake, it is necessary to overcome about 30 kilometers dirt road.
